APF win Women’s Nat’l Trophy

Nepal Armed Police Club (APF) Club completed hat trick of title beating Region No 5 Nepalgunj by 114 runs in the final of the National Women’s Cricket Tournament.

In a final played at TU Ground, APF scored 187 for 8 wickets in allotted 4 overs and restricted injury-hit Nepalgunj for 73 runs for 8 wickets in 33.5 overs.

Nepalgunj was two-players short after captain Nary Thapa and Rekha Thapa left the match early. Nary, who was later adjudged player of the tournament and best batswoman, injured on right leg after bowling a couple of deliveries.

Sita Rana Magar topscored for APF with 58 runs with 11 fours. Captain Neera Rajopadhyay got 20, Karun Bhandari 17 not out, Rubina Chhetri and Ritu Kanaujiya 16.

For Nepalgunj, Anu KC spearheaded bowling taking three wickets while Rekha BC grabbed 2 wickets in 8 overs before falling on ground due to weakness.

In reply, Nepalgunj didn’t looked achieving the score anytime. Mamata Thapa scored 19 and Sarita Thapa scored 18. Ritu Kanaujiya, player of the final, took four wickets.
