Nepal win the ICC World T20 Asia Qualifier ‘B’

Nepal fulfilled pre-tournament expectations to lift the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Qualifier ‘B’ trophy despite having their final match against Singapore abandoned in Malaysia on Friday. Heavy rain in Klang denied either side a chance to end the tournament with six successive wins as Nepal finished top of the seven-team standings with 11 points, the same as Singapore, but with superior run-rate. Malaysia defeated China by 10 wickets in Bangi to claim third spot on a better net run-rate from Thailand after both teams wound up with seven points. Nepal advances to next round of ICC World T20 qualifiers beating Bhutan

Nepal secured its berth to the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Finals after confirming a top-three finish at the ICC World T20 Asia Qualifier ‘B’ in Malaysia on October 9 with a 117-run victory over Bhutan. Alongside Nepal, Singapore also claimed a fourth win and a berth in the Finals with an eight-wicket victory over Thailand in Klang. Nepal edged closer towards qualification from the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Qualifier ‘B’ after recording its third consecutive wins. Five-star Sandeep eases Nepal past Malaysia in World T20 Qualifiers

Nepal added to expanded ICC ODI team rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has added four ODI nations, including Nepal, to the expanded MRF Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings with effect from June 1, 2018. Nepal, Scotland, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) joined the 12 leading ODI nations on the rankings; however, Nepal and the Netherlands will need to play four more matches to be featured in the rank. The Netherlands have 13 rating points and Nepal have 0 ratings point currently. ICC adds Sandeep to World XI for T20I against the Windies at Lord’s

Nepal wrist-spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane, one of the brightest young cricketers on the circuit, has beenadded to the ICC World XI squad for the 31 May T20I against the Windies. ICC welcomes Nepal Special General Meeting to adopt revised constitution

The ICC has welcomed confirmation from the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) of a Special General Meeting (SGM) to be held on 19-20 April to consider constitutional change that will reform governance of the sport and pave the way towards reinstatement of ICC membership. The SGM will consider proposed changes to the constitution that have been recommended by the Nepal Advisory Group (NAG), comprising stakeholders from across the game in Nepal and set up by the ICC. Netherlands beat Nepal to finish 7th

ICC World Cricket League Championship winners the Netherlands defeated Nepal by 45 runs to finish seventh in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier at Kwekwe Sports Club. Batting first, the Dutch collected 189 for nine with Bas de Leede (39), Max O’Dowd (28), Roelof van der Merwe (25), Scott Edwards (25) and Pieter Seelaar (23) making contributions with the bat. Nepal to rely on raw talent in World Cup Qualifiers

Nepal will be the youngest side when it enters next month’s ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe in their quest to progress to the ICC’s pinnacle 50-over tournament – the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Nepal have not played an ODI in their young but impressive cricket history and the average age of their side is 24 years and one month. Progress made towards Nepal’s readmission: ICC

A delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) has returned from Nepal following a series of meetings to progress discussions aimed at enabling the reinstatement of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to ICC membership. The visit, led by ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja, was focused on the adoption of a revised constitution and subsequent elections with clear timelines in place to lay a solid foundation for the good governance of the sport in Nepal. Positive meetings held as part of process to re-admit CAN in ICC

A series of positive meetings of the Nepal Advisory Group concluded this weekend in Kathmandu as part of the process to re-admit the Cricket Association of Nepal as a member of the International Cricket Council. The Nepal Advisory Group, which consists of various stakeholders of cricket in Nepal, was formed by the ICC to recommend amendments to the constitution of the CAN so that elections can be conducted subsequently as per the revised constitution. ICC Delegation to Visit Nepal

The International Cricket Council’s Full Council meeting in Edinburgh, England on Thursday unanimously ratified the suspension of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar also announced that an ICC delegation will visit Nepal before October this year to assess the situation. The 53-member Full Council also unanimously ratified the suspension of the USA Cricket Association (USACA). ICC Statement regarding ICC World Cricket League round-three matches between Nepal and Namibia

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has in recent weeks been in discussions with various stakeholders regarding the staging of the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Championship round-three matches between Nepal and Namibia. These matches are scheduled to take place on April 16 and 18. Whilst acknowledging that Nepal cricket does not currently have a functioning governing body and that a case is currently before the Supreme Court in this regard, the intention of these discussions was to find a solution that would allow Nepal to compete in these matches, and potentially host them. With just over three weeks to go the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 3, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the fixtures for the tournament, which will take place from 23 to 30 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
