Nepal with Bahrain & Brunei in Group A

Nepal has been drawn along Bahrain and Brunei in Group A for the upcoming Under-19 ACC Trophy scheduled for November 9-19 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Altogether 15 nations are participating in the event. Group B consists of Kuwait, Afghanistan, UAE and Iran while Qatar, Singapore, Oman and Thailand are in Group C. Remaining Malaysia, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Maldives will play in Group D of the tournament.

As semi-finalists in the last ACC U19 Cup held in Pakistan in 2003, Nepal, Malaysia, Qatar and Kuwait were seeded and thus kept apart from each other’s groups. The draw was made in Kuala Lumpur in the presence of ACC Development Manager Sultan Rana.

“It’s a great honour for us in Nepal and we are certainly very ready”, said CAN President Jai Kumar Nath Shah. “The winner of this tournament goes forward to play in the U-19 World Cup next year and so this event is of major importance to all the countries at this level.”
