The Two-Ball Win Against Myanmar

Nepal re-wrote the history book of the ACC Trophy with a two-ball victory over Myanmar after bowling them out of only 10 runs in 12.1 overs. Man of the match Mehboob Alam took seven wicekts for three runs.

Myanmar, the first-timer in the event, had already suffered heavy defeats but only very few had expected that the match would be finished so quickly. Mehboob began with the first ball wicket and continued that until the first ball of the seventh over to finish off Myanmar innings at 10.

Binod Das took three wickets for four runs in his six overs while Raju Basnet and Akash Gupta were the only other men to featured in the Myanmar innings scorecard. Basnet got a good low catch at the short mid-wicket while Gupta held one at point. All other wickets were either bowled or lbw.

Five of their batsmen got a run each while six others failed to open the account – other runs coming from byes, leg-byes and wides.

Nepal innings began with Gyanendra Malla and Mahesh Chhetri each of whom scored three runs. The Myanmar bowler Aye Min Than gave away three wides one of which missed wicket-keeper leaving Nepal with two more runs. The match was finished so early that umpires made him bowl one more ball – a dot one.
