UAE Disqualified

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has disqualified United Arab Emirates (UAE) team from the tournament as they failed to abide by the playing conditions.

Article 2a of the playing conditions of the tournament states that every team should field at least two passport holders of the country they are representing but UAE has no such player in the team. UAE however will play all the league matches and will return without playing the playoffs.

“The UAE have been deemed ineligible for the competition for failing to satisfy team registration requirements,” said ACC in its website. “Their Group B matches will not count as official results and their players will still be classified for the tournament averages,” the ACC added.

The disqualification means UAE will finish 10th in the event and will be relegated to U-15 Challenge Cup for next year.

That’s the best thing to do as you have play for the nation where you were born not where you stay.
