Nepal will host the inaugural Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-16 Elite Cup in March next year.
ACC has set March 8 to 18 as the tentative date for the event, to be competed by Nepal, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand and the UAE.
The ACC U-16 Elite Cup replaces the U-15 and U-17 events according to ACC decision due to problems arising from difficulty in age-verification.
Nepal last hosted ACC U-17 Elite Cup in February and won the event to become the only nation to win all age-group events of ACC.
The awarding of the hosting rights means that Nepal will host two events in space of two months: the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Divison 5 is scheduled for February.
Meanwhile, ACC has also decided the venues for other tournaments in 2010.
Nepal will travel to Kuwait to play the ACC Trophy during April 21-30, while the ACC U-19 Women’s Championship will be held in Singapore from September 22-30.
