well guys, if you work hard then obviously your work will be paid off so why not try in division 5 and get the massive chance getting to the higher level as AFGANISTHAN did in last year then best of luck round this time its our chance in our home crowd.

its a big achivement to finish a tournament with a win . unfortunationally it was for the fifth place, we deserve more than that. so keep hard working and do better. more matches r required for our team if we want to step up. we need to improve our batting 100 to 120 runs in 20 20 cricket is never sounds better we need 180+ score in 20 20 format and 250+ in 50 over matches so i would like to request CAN to do some moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Not bad. Keep the winning momentum going until wcl5. CAN should organise plenty of practice matches

A convincing 9 wicket victory over Singapore may have brought a whiff of balm to nursing hearts of Nepali cricket aficionados with a hope that in future assignments, our Senior Team with proper match practice facilities and other pertinent requirements, the team would perform consistently and win laurels for the country. In hindsight, one would realise the fact that, nearing the fag end of the tournament, our team started delivering goods and won matches. After initial defeats against Malaysia and Oman, Nepal registered wins against Kuwait/Qatar/Bahrain/Singapore – The equation played 6, won 4 and loss 2 is not a bad performance in an overall perspective. Alas! Had we had more competitive match practices prior to the tournament, the scenario might have been different reading……This is because, the more our team played matches the better our team’s performance came to the forefront later on. Encouragingly, the performances of Afghanistan and UAE throughout this tournament have been exceptional, though it is also true that they have mix-breed of players from the South East Asian Region; the fact is these 2 teams have made great strides forward being Non-Test Playing Countries irrespective of whatever the permutations. Considering this fact, we cannot ever continue yammering only if other South Asian Region Non-Test playing countries were disallowed to induct expatriate players into their sides, we would be better off since we play with our own-bred pure Nepali cricketers. Partially, it may be true. But still, we will have to compete according to the rules applied by ACC/ICC and win tournaments to acquire One-Day Status. Afghanistan, already with its stupendous performances at various international competitions, has gained One-Day Status until 2013 A.D., which is all the more encouraging and inspiring for other Non-Test Playing Countries and an exemplary to follow suit and ensure their own graduation for One-Day Status.

Coming back to Nepal’s future development programmes for its better performances, the following components will have to figure prominently and a mechanism to meet these requirements: - Proper infrastructure set-up, incentives for the players, regular national tournaments and exposure playing with the foreign teams on a regular basis (Matches against foreign teams on a bilateral basis). No doubt, Nepali players are highly talented, but for a talent to blossom fully it needs proper care and it should be groomed at all times and satisfy its pertinent requirements. On the contrary, if these requirements are not provided on a timely basis, no matter how talented you are, except for fleeting moments, your talent would wither with no trace!!!

Eventually, I, on behalf of all cricket aficionados, including myself; who got an opportunity to express their comments on this website, would like to thank Mr. Ujjwal Acharya and his buddies and related with this site. Besides, it was very interesting and had a wonderful experience with timely dissemination on Nepal’s performance wired by this website. Truly, the internet has been the mankind’s amazing invention of this century! Buddy, Ujjwal Acharya, you have done a great job! So, please keep up the tradition at all times. In addition, a word of praise all goes to contributors who have been sending in their comments; though some of them could have been palliated. I look forward to seeing you all in future tournament matches as well. Honestly speaking, Buddy Ujjwal Acharya’s notice pertaining to palliation of comments is an expedient endeavour. In a democratic world, we have freedom of speech, but it also entails certain accountability on our speech/action. So, the mechanism of checks and balances should be there to warn us and everybody comes within this parameter. Even in my case, if there have had been any wittingly or unwittingly comments disseminated, please excuse me and you have every right to delete it. Take care and Bye for the moment….. NAMASKAR.........

There is no reason for us to be in a celebratory mood over Team Nepal's fifth place finish. At the end of the day it proved merely academic. Whatever good work came from the boys at the fag end was of no avail because it did not serve our cause much to our chagrin.

We went into the championship with soaring hopes, and to prove the world that we are far from finished.

Our mission was plain and simple- to redeem ourselves by qualifying for the Asian Games, which, unfortunately did not happen. Obviously, our inability to win crunch matches when it mattered most largely contributed to our downfall.
More importantly, a team has to function like a well oiled and serviced engine, otherwise, we suffer .

Overall the team's performance was mediocre. Clearly, we were badly exposed in the batting department. In other words, the batters totally failed to match the bowlers sterling performance throughout the championship.

We had our share of opportunities to inch closer towards our ultimate goal but failed to capitalize.

Admittedly to me it looked though the batters did not commit themselves and had not adequately done the spadework for the tournament. There is no excuse
for our debacle because we dug our own graves.

We have to take lessons from war torn Afghanistan who have reached the final despite challenging cricketing conditions than ours. Since their entry into world sports after going into a long hibernation they have made a strong and impressive comeback, something to envy about.

Cricket Association of Nepal ought to take a serious stock of the lackluster result and prepare the team for the next tournament accordingly. The association has to assess and rectify the team's shortcomings in the broadest sense of the words. Simply changing the coach, players and overlooking the underlying factors is not the remedy.

The need of the hour is a honest and soul searching approach to seek answers .
