28 cricketers for SAG closed-camp
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) named 28-member preliminary squad for the closed-camp training for the South Asian Games.
The camp will begin on December 12 in Kathmandu.
Those selected include five cricketers from the final 18 of the ACC T20 Elite Cup in UAE and the selection committee headed by Arun Kumar Aryal has confirmed their places in the final 18 for SAG.
These players are U-19 captain Gyanendra Malla, Amrit Bhattarai, Naresh Budair, Binod Bhandari and Chandra Saud.
Other named for the squad are Pushpa Thapa, Akash Gupta, Antim Thapa, Prem Budal, Sunny Pun, Lal Bahadur Adhikari and Rom Shrestha.
Similarly, U-17 captain Prithu Baskota, Rupesh Kumar Srivastav, Navin Shahi, Jata Shankar Sarraf, Anil Mandal, Anupam Singh, Amit Shrestha, Bibek Dali and Subendu Pandey are also asked to join the training camp.
The remaining cricketers for the camp are Pradeep Airee, Bhuwan Karki, Akash Pariyar, Sagar Pun, Avinash Karn, Lokendra Chand and Ritesh Singh.
The SAG is scheduled to be held from January 29 to February 8 in Bangladesh and cricket has been included in the event for the first time.

In my understanding WCL 5 has already taken place and here I have provided the results:

hey mukesh thats Wcl 5 of 2008. There is new wcl5 which is going to be held in jan or feb in kathmandu. Six nation are competing in that tournament and I think Nepal and usa are favorite.

I found this information after a detailed research: Fiji, Jersey, the USA and Nepal will be participating in the Division 5 tournament which will be staged in Nepal from 20 to 27 February 2010. I’ll update the fixture as soon as I find ‘em.

y Nepali team hasn’t started its preparation yet?…….I think Binay raj pandey is still sleeping. Let’s wake up him. We lost ACC u-19 for the fist time, we were out from ACC 20/20 from first round. S0, we have to start preparing from now.
That is what am telling. The team have not started preparing as of now. When are they going to start the close camp. CAN just hope that we will win and will be the winner with out putting anything on the plate.
You can not grow trees with planting the seeds. They need more practice and exposure if they really want Nepal to win this tournament.

yeah bardan da iam really agree with you. we are hoping to win the tournament after take part in short closed camp. how can player built there confident for such big tour. CAN is still sleeping on there way;they are carelees about there dupty. they are hopping medal after take part in that kind of practies session. they have already made huge mistake on the way of sucess. CAN is going to start closed camp from mansir 27. can we get sucess after take part that such short closed camp? again we are going to lose the tournament. its really heart the core of heart of nepalies cricket fan.
now adays, we are totally hopeless from CAN. they never wakeup on there way.
again will lose the WCL division tournament that is going to held in nepal from 20-27 feb 2010. there is no any hope remains to win that biggy. again this dream will remains in dream.
how can we hope to win this tour after see the phenomenon is happning in CAN. they are careless on cricket and also cricket fans. Nepal will b the weakest team betn Pak, SL, Ban, Ind n Afg. Are Maldives and Bhutan playing cricket in SAG?

Is it not possible to have some kind of SACF (South Asian Cricket Federation) as opposed to SAFF…where the South Asian Country play more regularly? I know teams like SL, IND, PAK and even BANG are strong, but they could send it a second string players, i.e their A team. I mean we beat the PAK A team, so the games will be equal and our boys get exposure. And if they really wanted to win, they could send in even their better team (better for us)..no restrictions.
