Nepal beat Tanzania by 10 wickets to claim third position in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4 at Medicina, Italy on Saturday.
Nepal bowled out Tanzania for 73 in 39.3 overs and the openers – Anil Mandal (47 not out) and Mahesh Chhetri (24 not out) raced the team to target in 12.3 overs.
During a league match, Tanzania defended 117 to beat Nepal by nine runs – a surprise result that put Nepal out of the finals and promotion to Division 3.
Tanzania elected to bat first. The openers added 19 before Binod Das and Amrit Bhattarai took a wicket each in space of four balls to make it 19/2. Bhattarai added one more wicket as Abdallah edged to wicketkeeper Mahesh Chhetri.
It was then the slow bowling that made hard for Tanzania. Shakti Gauchan led the bowling with 3/10 in his 9 overs while Basant Regmi got 2/15 and Rahul Biswokarma claimed the topscorer Kikasi who made 32 off 72 balls. The only other batsman to score double-digit was opener Kiongozi (12).
Mehboob Alam also got a wicket castling stumps of Nassoro.

Nepal is in 27th position in World Ranking. Before WCL 4 it was on 29th position and after WCL 4 and currrent ranking published by ICC, Nepal is in 27th.
Well…there is another round of Division 4 and Division 3 in 2012 to qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. So, Nepal still has a chance. But for the next two years, Nepal will be stuck in 27th position.
Nepal should get kabir khan as their head coach because he left our team. He is the best coach.
Kabir Khan resigned from coach of Afgansthan team citing unfavorable environment , I was expecting the same from Roy Dias but i think staying in Nepal for 10 years he has learnt a lot from our politicians to stick to the post at any cost. Dias has taught us how to not lose but we need someone who can teach us how to win. As for Khushal’s reccomendation for Kabir Khan, yeah he has proved himself as a good coach but since Afgansthan has hired a batting coach in Rashid Latif and Nepal primarily need a coach with great batting prowess to improve our batting so i doubt he is very suitable to coach Nepal. We need a batting specialist coach from India who has link with BCCI so that we can get ample of oppurtunities playing with strong teams from India
Latif resigns as Afghanistan coach so we should call him…
By standing 3rd in this Pepsi ICC WCL-DIVISION IV, Nepal has salvaged some pride to some extent, though it could not live up to the expectations of being the finalists in this tournament. The loss against a babe in the woods team like Tanzania in the league really proved detrimental to Nepal’s cause. It was an unexpected loss and nobody anticipated it. Surprisingly, the victory against Argentina was an inspirational win with some really solid batting performances from A.K Mandal, Mahesh Chhetri, Pradeep Airee and captain Paras Khadka, but once again our batting collapsed against USA. A target 203 set by USA should have been achieved by a team which aspires to compete at World Cup Qualifier 2013, a gateway to World Cup 2015. I strongly feel a time has come to rope in a batting specialist coach who could bring in innovative ideas and enable our boys’ true batting talent to come to the fore. It is not that our batsmen lack technique nor ability, the problem lies at temperament. If we look our team’s performances of the last few years, the bowlers have been consistent whereas batting has not been such case. As for Roy Dias, no doubt, he has contributed immensely for Nepalese cricket and his contributions will ever be remembered in Nepal. But what I feel is that after having been associated with the Nepali cricket for nearly a decade may have brought in a kind of boring or slackness element (though unknowingly) which at times, cripples his manoeuvering tactics and does not produce the desired results despite his earnest efforts. It is our human nature that we cannot have the same thing seeing, listening, reading, talking or eating for a longer period of time unless if some newer elements are added to it to make it peppy, we start feeling boring about it. The aphorism says Familiarity breeds Contempt…..
For WORLD CUP 2015, as there is one more chance available, it is very important that Cricket Association of Nepal, players and stakeholders sit down and work out the best possible options to ensure Nepal does not miss out the bus this time around. If missed, our cricket development will be pushed back to several years behind, to say the least.
Now Afghanistan’s cricket is in huge loss, I think the board is responsible for all these mess.
Afghanistan is for sure going to be the next Kenya. Sadly.
Now Afganisthan wil relegate n lose al its triumph bcoz of politics n dispute in ACB!
In 2004 ACC trophy afgan debut internationaly bt during tournament there was brawl n fight betwen their players n oficial regarding playing 11. So same situation wil arise n there wil b a story ‘ONCE UPON TIME WE PLAYD T20 WC’
NEPAL sud get kabir khan bt we can’t aford Rashid latif sinc he askd 12000 US DOLAR wid xtra incentive.
Roy dias is betr dan latif so no ned 2 get him bt try 2 get khan.
Roy dias is also taking aprox 10000 US dolar per month,in dat amount kabir might come bt our secretary CA PANERU might ask 4 comison!
ROY DIAS PLZ GO HOME N CONTACT AFGAN CRIKET BOARD,THEY MAY HIRE U IN 6000 US DOLAR PER MONTH!
Khusal do afgani want ROY DIAS?
@Gangsta:- I can see your frustration. You had great wins against Netherlands & Ireland on this european tour. Well I do not need to get into any arguments coz “When Elephants march dogs keep barking, but Elephants should ignore them”. So thanks for your comments
Nepal:- My support stays with you. Be focused and the WC 2015 is not far away
Yes the big elephant keep getting all out on 100 ( 103 actually) and below 100 (something like 82) within a week(effectively the match is over within 15 overs, finished before it starts so to speak) and still think it is big enough think big.
Nepal Needs good bowling coach than batting coach. If we get bowling coach like wasim Akram we can produce world class bowlers. If we have good bowlers we will have better batting side obviously because, they will practice with good bowlers.
but nepali bowlers are tough enough for practice
@Reaz:- The Elephant had fallen sick. Another South Asian elephant is also sick these days (Pakistan). Hope it get’s ok soon and get rid of this cancer. Third elephant (Sri Lanka) is going great guns. But dogs are still barking a lot.
oh yea jashannn……….look whose giving examples of dogss…..when india will loose…ha..look at those houses burning …..and india self-destruct…..worshippers of human beings……and treating them like dogs again…speaks of india actually….
and u guys sell ur country….azharuddin…manoj prabhakar……jadeja…all match fixers….what about ipl…fixed…go and have a look at the inside truth…chennai was supposed to win ipl 2010 even before the semi finals took place…making the whole indian public like assess..and fooling them into following them…u guys cant do anything better….can you? ya i remebr how even 100,000 indians couldnt win against the 11 sri lankans during 1996 world cup..dont be so arrogant…….or else u guys wont find a place to bury urself…..
and nepali brothers….dont be in the influence india is gonna help u guys out…maybe they will help u get test status…just for their vote….in the end…lemme see if they evr invite u for a two test series…..ask the pakis, sri lankans, or the bangladeshis…why ind is disliked in this region…….let them worship and burn their gods at the same time…lol…..
No way, we never want Roy Dias. Once he starts his tenure with any team, then he never says goodbye. And any way he is not of that quality to coach Afghanistan in such turbulent conditions, as being an ODI nation it has some vast pressure. And yeah we should not forget that Roy Dias has done lots of things for Nepal:):):):):):):):):):) as once I remember a team called NEPAL, participated in Intercontinental cup, defeating some full members’ u19 teams in world cups. Nepal was supposed to be the fifth test nation in Asia. But, unfortunately these all came to an end under Roy dias. So, we never want to suffer that as well.
anyways…my full hearted love for nepal….and my nepali friends….no need to be fans of illiterate sehwag or those indian shit superstars……when u ask them abt nepal…they will derogate u…just like they always derogated their neighbours sl, pak, and bd……..and got their appropriate responses in 96 world cup, and 2007 world cup….u guys wont understand me now…but join the elite league…and then u’ll understand the hypocrisy of these indians….
@Gangsta:- Yeah man. Bangladesh is the best. It is the most developed nation in the world. Everything is perfect right from your Government to your cricket team. First find food and clothes for 80% people who live under the poverty line. I can surely see so much frustration. Don worry man. You can be the change. Go change bangladesh the beggar of the world
I pity you
@Gangsta:- I got an excellent quote for you in “Khud ka ghar sambhalta nahi chalen hai duniya mein raaz karne”, I will translate it for you” Can take care of own household and they are going out to rule the world”.
For you frustrated soul. May you find peace.
And something for your GK “let them worship and burn their gods at the same time”, the religion (Though never want to bring it in) of Nepal & India are quite similar. So by the way of your thinking, you surely can make no friends. Any other GK tips, feel free to contact me
Kushal, i don’t know what happened to afg cricket? Two coaches resigned? Or, what?
@WE MUST HATE TANKA
PANERU,BINAY RAJ PANDEY & ROY
DIAS!
“Now Afganisthan wil relegate n lose al its triumph

Inshallah it will not happen as we’re going to qualify again and again. And ACB is not like CAN to let these all things happen, they will definitely react, as reacting right now, they have called for an Australian or English coach and they’ll get him very soon.
One thing I should clear that the turmoil is gonna get finished very soon because the issue of dispute has been raised in the Afghan Parliament, the chairman of the board Mr. Zakhilwal who is the minister of the finance ministry as well has been summoned to parliament, there are lots of parliamentarians who love cricket and they will never let this happen.
Arun, yes unfortunately Kabir Khan resigned because of the interference of the board in his decisions. And Rashid Latif resigned because his highly lucrative demands were not accepted. Read the full story right below;
Afghanistan’s recently hired batting coach Rashid
Latif has resigned from his post amid differences
between the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and
head coach Kabir Khan whose tenure was ended
last week. “We received Rashid resignation and
fully respect his choice, but are shocked to
receive a long list of new demands just 25 days
after signing a contract with him ”, the ACB’s CEO
Hamid Shinwari told the Cricket Post.
Rashid Latif has asked ACB in an email earlier
today to either restore Kabir Khan as a coach or
increase his salary from 6000 USD to 12000 USD,
hire a car for him and his family with a driver in
Karachi and pay him benefits that utility, house
rent in kabul and karachi, and medical insurance for him and his
family in Karachi plus a hundred US dollars daily
allowances on trips with being able to fly
with business class visa, etc.
ACB responding to his e mail
explained to him that ACB cannot afford his new
demands, Shinwari says.
If Rashid Latif new demands were met, his
benefits (6000 USD) would have increased to
17000 USD that ACB rejected, he then sent his
resignation saying he cannot continue with the
ACB for family and personal reasons.
ACB has
accepted his resignation.
CEO Hamid Shinwari says the ACB is talking to
the ICC for last few days to help hiring a coach
from Australia, South Africa or England. He says
the new coach will join national squad camp prior
to Kenya tour that takes place in October this year.
Rashid Latif demands are shocking, says CEO
Hamid Shinwari, as it has never been brought
during the negotiation if he was joining the ACB
because of kabir Khan, “his arrangement is with
Afghanistan” Shinwari says.
Rashid Latif’s behavior is regarded unprofessional
by many in Afghanistan as Afghans do not have
good experience of individuals pursuing
friendship and alliance in the ACB and the national
team.
Esmatullah Andar, a close follower of
Afghan cricket who resides in Dubai, says Rashid
departure is positive for Afghan cricket as it is not
acceptable to have “gangs” in the team, coaching,
or the ACB administration. We would like to see a
professional cricket in Afghanistan where people
do not quit because of their friends quiting. Everyone
shall be treated based on the level of his
professionalism and ability they show; we have
to fight grouping at all levels if we want to have
sound cricket in the country.
Many Afghans already discuss Rashid’s decision
in discussion forums, some showing sympathy
with him and criticizing the ACB for not retaining
him saying he has come to war-zone and rightly
deserve what he demands for, some others
accusing Rashid of pursuing “friendship” in cricket
and “blackmailing” the ACB raising doubts about
his commitment to cricket and him being a
professional coach and cricketer who keeps his
promises and stays firm.
In asian games.. Srilanka, pakistan and b.d wil send ther high clas team or just lower grade players??
