Squad for ACC U19 Woman announced

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Sunday announced 18-member preliminary squad for the closed-camp training to prepare for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Women’s Cricket Tournament.

The players were selected by the selection committee headed by Bijaya Kumar Sharma analyzing their performance during the National U-19 Woman Cricket Tournament held in Kathmandu.

Five players from winners Region No 7 (Janakpur) made to the squad including Anuradha Chaudhary, Sarswoti Chaudhary, player of the final Mamta Chaudhary, Santoshi Chaudhary and captain Kabita Gautam.

Best batswoman of the tournament Pratikshya Bashyal, player of the tournament Indu Berma and Aaksha Gurung represent runners-up Region No 4 (Bhairahawa) in the squad.

Three players each from Region No 6 (Baitadi) and Region No 3 (Kathmandu) are also selected for the camp. Baitadi captain Sonu Khadka, Dropati Kunar, Puja Bhatta, Kathmandu captain Shradda Aryal, best bowler of the tournament Shilu Rijal and Sangeeta Gauchan are selected.

Nepalgunj’s Saraswoti GM and Samana Pun, Biratnagar’s Rubina Chhetri and Birgunj’s wicketkeeper Manisha Chaulagain are also selected from the team.

No one from Pokhara made to the squad.

The squad will train for the ACC event to be held in Kuwait from February 1 to 10.
