Oman scored 169/9 in 50 overs after electing to bat first. Nepal needed 38.3 overs to overcome the score and lost four wickets.

Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 118 runs in the opening match of the ACC Trophy 2010 Elite at the Unity Ground, Kuwait on Wednesday.

Winning the toss, Nepal decided to bat first and scored 236/7 in 50 overs. Defending champions Hong Kong could only manage 118 in 33.3 overs.

Another factor to boost Nepal’s morale for the opening match is that Nepal had beaten Hong Kong in last two meetings. In 2008, before winning the title, Hong Kong lost to Nepal in the league match – a repetition of the result two years earlier.
