Nepal beats MCC by 9 wickets

Nepal beat the MCC team by 9 wickets in a rain-reduced 6-over-a-side T20 match at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in England.

MCC scored 40 for 4 in 6 overs – after the rain washed out the morning of the day scheduled with three T20s. Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardena, who was captaining MCC, scored 24 not out off 16 balls with 4 fours. No other batsmen stayed long enough to score in two-digit.

Pacer Sompal Kami was the pick of the bowlers for Nepal as he picked 2 wickets for 8 runs in 2 wickets. Veteran left-arm orthodox Shakti Gauchan bowled well to claim a wicket off his one over. Gyanendra Malla fielded brilliantly to run out Jonathan Trott.

In reply, Nepal opened with Subhash Khakurel and Anil Sah. They added 18 before Sah (9) was out. Gyanendra (12 not out of 4 balls) and Subhash (16 not out off 15 balls) took Nepal to the victory with 8 balls remaining.
