ICC confirms at least 36 ODIs for Nepal until January 2022

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the first eight series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 to begin in August 2019 on the Road to India 2023. The Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 provides more competitive cricket for Nepal, Namibia, Oman, PNG, Scotland, UAE and USA, with each team playing 36 One Day Internationals (ODIs) over two and half years from August 2019 to January 2022, where teams are just two steps away from the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Nepal’s return to T20I dampened by rain at Lord’s

Nepal’s returned to T20 international after three years was dampened by the rain as the match against the Netherlands was abandoned at the Lord’s Cricket Ground after 16.4 overs. The Netherlands scored 174/4 in 16.4 overs in the damp conditions utilizing a short boundary and inability of Nepali spinners to grip the ball. The match was called off as the rain continued. Nepal to play ACC Asia Cup 2018 Qualifiers

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule for the ACC Asia Cup 2018 Qualifiers to be held in Malaysia from August 29 to September 6. Nepal will compete to UAE, Oman, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia for the prized spot in the Asia Cup 2018. The winner of the Qualifiers will join defending champions India and Pakistan in Group A of the Asia Cup. Group B is made up of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Nepal added to expanded ICC ODI team rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has added four ODI nations, including Nepal, to the expanded MRF Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings with effect from June 1, 2018. Nepal, Scotland, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) joined the 12 leading ODI nations on the rankings; however, Nepal and the Netherlands will need to play four more matches to be featured in the rank. The Netherlands have 13 rating points and Nepal have 0 ratings point currently. Nepal will take on hosts Namibia in the curtain-raiser of the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 at Affies Park, Windhoek (WAP) on February 8, 2018. The six-team tournament – also consisting Kenya, Canada, Oman and UAE – is the qualifier for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018. Nepal announced a preliminary squad of 21 players for the ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournamnet to be held in Namibia from February 6 to 16, 2018. The ICC WCL Div 2 teams include Canada, Oman, Kenya, UAE, Nepal and Namibia. Sagar Pun and Binod Bhandari, two prominent players of the national team, failed to make to the preliminary squad. Rain washes out Nepal vs Hong Kong

  Nepal is relegated to the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 after rain washed out second match between Nepal versus Hong Kong in the sixth round of ICC World Cricket League Championship (WCLC). Both sides had to share a point each after the match was called off. Nepal now lies sixth on the table with nine points from 12 matches while Hong Kong is 4th on the table with 14 points from a same number of matches. Hong Kong register win as Nepal batted poorly in WCLC

Nepal lost to Hong Kong by 83 runs in the ICC World Cricket League Championship round six match at the Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok. Spinner Ehsan Khan registered his career-best figures of five wickets for 17 runs wrapping up the last five batsmen after pace bowlers Aizaz Khan and Tanwir Afzal dent early blows to the Nepal chase. Nepal has announced 18-member preliminary squad for the U19 World Cup Qualifiers (Asia Qualifiers Division 1). Nepal displayed a brilliant all-round performance to outplay Kenya and register a 7-wicket victory in the World Cricket League Championship (WCLC) match at the TU Cricket Ground. Kenya was bowled out for 155 in 46.1 overs; and Nepal registered a victory with 118 balls remaining chasing down the target in 30.2 overs. ICC Delegation to Visit Nepal

The International Cricket Council’s Full Council meeting in Edinburgh, England on Thursday unanimously ratified the suspension of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar also announced that an ICC delegation will visit Nepal before October this year to assess the situation.
